Previously, Spotify introduced Courses to their UK audience. Allowing them to learn a range of things from recipes to technology. Now, they’re working on adding this to their US platform.

Previously, Spotify introduced educational courses to their UK audience. It allowed users to test out learning resources for a variety of topics. Spotify users were able to learn about anything from business and technology, to music and more.
While this was a pilot originally, it has been suggested that due to response from their users, Spotify plan to bring this feature to their US audience. It could come at a perfect time with TikTok being up in the air within the region.
Of course, TikTok seems to be reinstated within the US, but due to it being a back and forth argument for years now, we can imagine Spotify are able to use this to their advantage. While TikTok isn’t an educational platform, many use it as a news source.
There are a lot of younger users, within their teenage years, who find TikTok to be a resource for learning. Often turning to the social platform for any queries or concerns they may have. Perhaps Spotify offering factual information could change that.
With features like Wrapped, Spotify has the upper hand. It’s considered a cool and popular app and is forever growing, so making learning fun could benefit their entire platform. Courses will be a feature found next to Podcasts.
Users can access courses on AI, web3 and the metaverse. Each of these topics are extremely relevant in the current market, and individuals young and old could benefit from learning about how these things work. After all, as a society we’re moving into these areas.
There’s no denying it. There are a few courses which can be accessed already, all following a different path. It doesn’t seem like there is a timeframe on these courses reaching the US, however, changes are being made to the platform at the moment.
