Apple update Logic Pro, adding new sounds and search options. They’ve also added a new software emulation of the Quantec Room Simulator typically found in music recording studios across the world.
Apple have announced their latest updates. They’ve made changed to their platform Logic Pro. Now, users can search for plug-ins and sources easily. They can also use analogue-simulating sounds. These features have been introduced as a way to expand the product.
Updates are available to users on Mac and iPad devices. In the new Logic Pro for Mac 11.1 as well as Logic Pro for iPad 2.1, users are able to use plug-ins within the mixer. Users can also reorder channel strips and plug-in windows. All making the layout easier to alter.
A clearer layout makes for an easier user experience when creating an audio mix. Apple have added a library of analogue synthesizer samples, which they’ve named Modular Melodies. These can be used to mix up your own music and create something special.
The new Modular Melodies are there to accompany the Modular Rhythms already available in Logic. The Quantec Room Simulator (QRS) is a plug-in allowing users to access a vintage, digital reverb hardware. This equipment is found in recording studios around the world.
The Quantec Room Simulator
It’s a high-tech piece of equipment and is therefore only available in high quality and usually pricey studios. Therefore, Logic is bringing this option to the average musician’s home. Apple have gained access to the technology within the classic QRS.
Logic Pro for Mac now allows users to share a song via Mac’s Voice Memos, which is an app. The iPad edition allows users to add third party sample folders to the browser window. This lets musicians bring their own audio files and tracks to the app.
The best part is, Logic Pro haven’t increased their pricing, which is surprising due to the high level of features being introduced. However, it’s great for music makers because they have access to quality tools for an affordable price.
