So, each year the same classics show up for first dances or aisle songs. However, there are always some curveballs thrown in. Are any of these songs you’re having at your wedding?

With wedding seasons here (well, it’s an all year round thing) we wanted to share with you some songs we believe will be particularly popular in 2025. Each year, there seems to be a few songs that are used more often than others.
You’ll find the same songs keep appearing year-on-year and that’s just because they’re a great choice for a wedding. Some will peak and then fall off the radar for a while before being picked back up. But, some are staples that will never go anywhere.
Are you someone who loves a classic despite how used it is? Or, are you a bride or groom that wants completely unique songs on their big day? There’s something beautiful about both sides. While unique songs are special to you, a song everyone knows is memorable.
Here are the most popular first dance songs
- Lover – Taylor Swift
- Can’t Help Falling in Love – Elvis Presley
- Perfect – Ed Sheeran
- Can’t Take My Eyes Off Of You – Frankie Valli
- At Last – Etta James
- Baby I’m Yours – Arctic Monkey
- You’re Still the One – Shania Twain
- Biblical – Calum Scott
- A Thousand Years – Christina Perri
- Still Into You – Paramore
Classics by Elvis or Frankie Valli will never disappear. They might not be songs you listen to every day, regularly appearing on your Wrapped, however they are songs that all generations know and love. Typically your wedding songs are slower.
First dance songs are ones you can move slowly to and sway in time with the music, all while locked in to your person. It’s unlikely you’d have the YMCA playing, unless you’re a slightly quirky couple, in which case, we’re here for it.
Ed Sheeran has taken over the wedding scene. So much so, some couples are choosing to ban his music from their day all together. They feel he is too generic for a wedding and don’t want the overplayed songs on their day. Their choice completely.
But, if a song is popular, it’s got to be because it fits the occasion right? So, whatever you choose, if it’s popular, just know, all the other couples choosing it aren’t wrong. You go for whatever fits you best. Paramore is definitely a more upbeat choice.
Those looking for more of a dance off might choose to go for something like that. It has a bit more personality and fun to it, so those who aren’t looking to slow dance, perhaps that’s one to consider. Either way, it’s a beautiful decision you get to make together.
