Unfortunately, in another effort to be the top performing social media platform, TikTok has added Bio Link limitations in recent updates. However, there’s not one rule for everyone. It seems each account is different.
Many users on TikTok have noticed they’re no longer able to see Bio Links on TikTok. Some have never been able to see the feature. There are rules which prevent certain users from accessing tools like this. However, for some, there’s never been a reason.
If you’re a minor, you won’t be able to see Bio Links. This is to protect younger users on the app. However, all other users should be able to see this feature. Most could, while there has always been a small minority, that no matter what they try, they cannot see these links.
Deleting and reinstalling the app, or updating it, often hasn’t seemed to work for many. Even less so now, with TikTok’s new secret updates. While the platform haven’t been upfront about it, we’ve seen their updates in the background.
It seems recently, TikTok made changes to their app which prevents a lot of users from seeing a Bio Link. These tools are used by creators and businesses to promote their other services, websites and social media accounts. But, it seems, TikTok don’t want self-promotion.
TikTok aren’t keen on the idea of promoting other social platforms, it seems. So, in recent updates, they’ve removed many Bio Links from view. We noticed ours disappeared and was later reinstated, but some users still cannot see it.
This seems unfair as a lot of creators and businesses rely on driving traffic to their website via TikTok. It’s a platform known for smaller accounts making viral videos. However, then they seem to be faced with blocks in the way, which is damaging.
