TikTok now prompts users to download videos from their favourite creators. These are then stored onto their devices and can be watched from anywhere without the need for an internet connection
Offline streaming is always helpful. Especially to those who often travel, as it allows them to stay up-to-date with their favourite creators while on the move. However, is there much need for it on TikTok? After all, the videos aren’t very long. At max, they’re 10 minutes. Is there any need to download these videos and watch them offline?
TikTok does suggest downloading videos and using them within your own content. There’s a range of ways you can use them, from GIFs, to live photos, or clips. You can use them in a variety of ways within your own work. Allowing you to create something unique with the help of your favourite TikTok stars.
TikTok video downloads
Allowing others to download your videos means they can use them for a variety of things; live photos, videos and GIFs. They can also share them to third-party platforms.
You can turn off downloads, stopping people from being able to save your content to their device. However, they will still be able to share your videos via link or direct message, providing your TikTok account is set to public.
Turning video downloads off won’t affect past content. Those who have already downloaded your videos will still be able to use them.
Once you turn video downloads off, no one will be able to download any video content you have or will post.
Anyone under the age of 16 will have their video settings turned off automatically, and they won’t be able to change this.

Whose video would you save? Would you start using the feature, or do you not see the point? If you’re a creator who regularly created video skits from content you’ve collected online, then this might be the perfect option for you. However, we see some online bullying potentially happening. Once it’s up, it can never really be deleted, right?
