How to add a clickable URL to your TikTok bio

You’ll need to upgrade to a business account if you want to be able to add a website or URL into your bio. Also, you’ll need to have 1,000 followers minimum before you can get started.

If you want your website to have more reach, it’s important to include your website URL within all your social media accounts. Anyone viewing your content can then access your links if they choose to click onto your profile. It helps your audience out too because they don’t have to leave the site to search for your company.

When anyone clicks on your URL, your webpage will open up within the TikTok app. It won’t redirect you to another app to use the web. However, the downside to this is, you have to meet certain requirements to be able to add your own URL into your bio. Until you have 1,000 followers, you can’t upgrade your account.

Once you’ve hit the follower target you can apply to upgrade your account to a business profile. You’ll need to input your Business ID number, along with your address, contact number and further business details. Then, you’ll need to wait for TikTok to approve your business profile. From there, you can add your bio URL.

If your account has been upgraded, you’re good to go. Add your URL by following these instructions:

  1. Open TikTok
  2. Head to your profile
  3. Click Edit Profile
  4. Under Website, add your URL.

Note: If you haven’t already switched to a business account, you will be prompted to when trying to add your website URL.

You will need to be logged in via the TikTok app for mobile rather than using the desktop version. This is because the desktop version doesn’t allow the relevant changes to be made. You can’t add a clickable URL via TikTok for web. The process of adding a URL is much harder than other social platforms that allow you to include one before hitting follower targets.
