One of the cool features of a smartwatch, is the ability to connect it to your earbuds and listen to music without the need for your phone. If you’re leaving the house for a run perhaps, you can listen to your motivating playlist without carrying your phone.
However, previously, this has only been beneficial for those who have a smartwatch sim card. Otherwise, they’ll need their phone to connect to internet data in order to stream anything. YouTube Music are working on a way to remove this barrier.
A new code was spotted that suggests the Apple Watch now has the data to support YouTube Music offline listening. Meaning, users will be able to download their music and stream through their watch which is a huge thing.
Apple Music and Spotify currently support offline downloads to an Apple Watch, howeve, YouTube Music has yet to make the leap. The code spotted shows a call out for clear downloads and storage usage.
