Netflix are introducing video podcasts to their streaming service as of 2026. This introduction will allow their subscription users to watch content from Spotify Studios as well as The Ringer. The partnerships were announced on Tuesday 14th October.

This is following three months of discussions over the partnerships. Talks were first started in July and were reported via The Wall Street Journal. However, the video podcasts are not all they plan to offer. There has been further talks.

Live concerts, music awards, celebrity interviews as well as documentary projects will be featured. Both companies have reported the launch will first happen in the US, early in 2026 and will expand from there.

Netflix viewers will soon have access to culture, lifestyle, sports, true crime and more. All podcasts that currently stream on Spotify in video form will eventually be accessible via Netflix, it’s thought. Both companies are smart, securing the partnership before competitors.

Neither have commented on whether music will eventually be added to the list. Considering video podcasts were only brought to Spotify in 2020, they have made serious progress now launching them on Netflix.

Could this see another price hike for both platforms? After all, to use one within the other, you’d need subscriptions to both, but, the platforms could argue you’re getting more for your money only needing to open one app.
