We haven’t quite hit December recap time, however, this year YouTube Music will be offering extra perks. You’ll be able to ask about your listening habits throughout 2025, and their AI tool will give you summaries.
It seems yet again, YouTube Music plans to be ahead of other streaming platform rivals by starting their recap in November rather than waiting for December to come around. Users should find themselves prompted to locate this information.
However, if for any reason you don’t get shown the way, you can easily head to your avatar in the top-right corner and click on Your Recap. You’ll be shown a story first, as with all streaming providers, but you can skip through this, and you’ll find the recap follows.
The recap will begin with your longest streak. This will show your most streamed song of 2025, which will then lead into your top 5 from the year. You’ll also see “Your musical bestie” which is your top artist of the year.
Included within that is a calendar, so you can see all the days you have listened to your favourite artist. You might be able to see a pattern, or, just be amazed you’ve listened to them on repeat for that many days in a row.
The recap will even display a digital passport so you know where in the world your favourite artists are based. This is a great tool for discovery. If you find you’re listening to a lot of music from one region, you might want to try more artists from that area.
You’ll also see your top genre, podcasts, playlists, albums and one graphic at the end that brings it all together. The best part is, the new feature called Ask Music. You can ask all sorts of questions about your listening habits over 2025.

- Did I explore or listen-on-repeat more?
- What were my top electronic dance music songs?
- What animal matches my music taste?
The feature will work with AI to review your YouTube history from the year and generate songs, or podcasts, that you might enjoy. You can ask any question you like through the AI chatbot, and you’ll see a response displayed in a shareable graphic.
