Starting a video project
With Edits, you can record a video project and choose to either:
- Save it as a draft to continue editing later
- Download it directly to your device
You can also explore reels shared on Instagram within Edits to see what is trending. If you find a reel you like, you can reuse its audio to start your own video project. Once your video is ready, you can automatically download it and share it as a reel on Instagram or Facebook.
Editing your content
Edits offers a variety of tools to make your videos unique. You can:
- Add multiple layers, such as text, music, or effects
- Manage and adjust these layers to create the look and feel you want
These features give you full creative control, allowing you to make videos that resonate with your audience.
How Instagram account information is used
You can log in to Edits using your Instagram account. Instagram uses your account information in line with Meta’s Privacy Policy. This helps Edits:
- Import your saved reels from Instagram
- Provide real-time insights on reels you share
The data used from your Instagram account can include:
- Content you interact with on Instagram
- Your login information and account ID
- Your name, username, and profile picture
- Your followers and accounts you follow
- Your age and location
- Account status, including intellectual property violations or Community Standards issues

Deleting your information
You can delete any video content you create on Edits at any time.
If you want to remove other data related to your use of Edits, such as your actions within the app, you will need to delete your Instagram account, as Edits is part of Instagram.
Temporarily deactivating your Instagram account will also temporarily deactivate Edits for you.
