How to see who viewed your old Instagram stories

So, more than 24 hours has passed and your Instagram story is no longer visible. But, you still want to know which accounts viewed your story right up until it was removed. Problem is, your story is no longer accessible, right? Not quite! You can still access your stories even when others can’t.

To see who’s viewed your live story, it’s pretty easy. All you need to do is click on your story, either within your profile, or on your home page. Then, you can click on the bottom left-hand corner. You will see various profile pictures there of those who have viewed your story. Once clicking on that area, you will be able to see everyone who has viewed your story.

You can scroll through the list and see the usernames of everyone who has looked at the story you’ve posted. This applies for all your stories. So, if different people have viewed different ones, you can check to see. Not many people still seem to use this feature to check who’s viewing their stories. But, some still rely on it, so it makes sense for Instagram to keep it.

It could be argued that this is quite a toxic feature. Many will use it to check if certain people have viewed their story. There are many reasons they might look for a certain individual’s name. However, nonetheless it does have its benefits. You can’t un-view a story, nor can you hide that you’ve viewed it. So, it is handy to have around.

How to view who has viewed your story once 24 hours has passed

If it’s been more than 24 hours, and you want to see a summary, how can you do this? Yes, you can save your stories to your Instagram highlights that are visible on your profile, but, what if you don’t want to do that? It’s not a well-known thing, but you can access your archived stories. From there, you’ll be able to see everyone who viewed your story when it was live.

To do this, here are Instagram’s instructions:

  1. Tap profile or your profile picture in the bottom right to go to your profile.
  2. Tap more options in the top right.
  3. Tap Archive.
  4. Scroll to the story that you want to see viewer info on.
  5. Tap the story and swipe up on the screen.

It’s really easy to do. Once you’re into the archived section, you’re then able to continue as normal with viewing the accounts who have seen your story. If you’re someone who wants to check certain accounts or people have viewed your story posts, you don’t have to worry about checking your story before it ends. It allows you to have the information forever.
