It’s never been easier to personalise your listening experience on Spotify. Last year, the streaming giant introduced more control over the way playlists sound, giving Premium users the ability to create seamless transitions between tracks.

Since launching, listeners around the world have streamed more than 220 million hours of their mixed playlists — proof that smooth song changes are high on everyone’s wish list.
Now, those transitions are getting an upgrade with Smart Reorder. Designed exclusively for Premium users, this new feature makes it even easier to fine-tune the flow of your playlists. With a single tap, Smart Reorder rearranges your mixed tracks by BPM and key, helping each song glide naturally into the next without missing a beat.
How smart reorder works
Using the feature is simple:
- Tap Mix on one of your playlists.
- Select Edit to find Smart Reorder.
- Your tracks will automatically be reorganised by BPM and key for smoother transitions.
The result? A more cohesive listening experience that keeps the vibe consistent from start to finish.

Song transitions can completely transform a playlist. There’s something genuinely magical about a seamless — or even surprising — switch between tracks. To see how listeners are getting creative, Spotify recently looked at some of the most popular transitions worldwide:
- “Wake Me Up” by The Weeknd into “After Hours” by The Weeknd
- “Low” by Flo Rida into “S&M” by Rihanna
- “No Lie” by Sean Paul into “Adventure of a Lifetime” by Coldplay
- “Safaera” by Bad Bunny into “EoO” by Bad Bunny
- “Femme Fatale” by Mon Laferte into “Perdón” by Camila
- “Homecoming” by Lil Uzi Vert into “20 Min” by Lil Uzi Vert
- “Dos Mil 16” by Bad Bunny into “Vuelve” by Daddy Yankee and Bad Bunny
- “euphoria” by Kendrick Lamar into “TOXIC” featuring Skepta and Playboi Carti
With Smart Reorder, crafting those satisfying moments is easier than ever. If you’re ready to experiment with your own transitions, open the Spotify app and explore Mix today.
