For the past two months, TikTok has been testing a beta version of TikTok for Artists. This has been quietly happening, with just a few artists involved. The platform will allow artist discovery and allow them to monitor their growth.

TikTok for Artists is now available in 26 countries, including the UK and US. Previously, in April, it was made available within Australia, Indonesia, Japan, New Zealand and South Korea. After being tested for a while, it’s been given the green light.

The app will show performance data and include promotional tools. Artists have access to their song’s progress, being able to see view counts, engagement statistics and breakdowns of followers including where they’re from, their gender, age and language.

This will allow music artists to tailor their marketing accordingly. If most of your listeners are in Australia, you’re not going to release songs in US timing, are you? It wouldn’t perform as well as releasing it in the correct timezone.

Artists will also be able to access a Pre-Release campaign tool. It will let them promote their future releases ahead of time. Similar to PUSH.fm’s Pre-save tool. However, rather than turning away from our free tool, remember ours can convert to Fan Links.

To access TikTok for Artists, you’ll need an artist account. You can then allow access to others. So, if you want your label or manager to be able to manage your account, you can grant them access. You’ll see a step-by-step guide on how to use the platform.

Feedback from artists, so far, shows that the new platform is worthwhile. They’ve been able to see exactly where their tracks are being used, which in turn will let them plan their marketing tactics accordingly. With TikTok being such a powerful platform, it’s a great addition.
