Currently, YouTube Music is bundled in with YouTube Premium. Meaning, if you pay for premium, you’ll get their music thrown in. However, in South Korea, there are arguments that this isn’t fair.

YouTube Music may be unbundled from YouTube Premium in South Korea. Recently, there have been discussions suggesting that YouTube’s current subscription model is unfair on other music suppliers. After all, they cannot provide the same service.
Is this really YouTube’s fault, though? They’ve worked hard to build up their platforms. Why should they be punished? It does seem YouTube are working on a way to resolve this, however. They’re planning to release a new subscription which doesn’t include music.
This subscription would be YouTube Premium but without the access to YouTube Music. Although, surely, if they’re removing a feature then they should reduce the price too. The situation has arisen from the country’s Fair Trade Commission (FTC).
YouTube Premium Lite could be introduced at a lower price, this will exclude YouTube Music. The company were able to rise above music competitors with the current bundle, and it seems the likes of Melon, Genie and Flo aren’t happy about this.
