Instagram just updated their platform and added in customisation options to the notes feature. Now, users will be able to add their own flare to their text when sharing with their followers. It’s not a major update for the platform, but it’s something fun.

The marketing element behind this feature is, you could make your notes stand out. By changing the background colour, you can bring attention to what you have to stay, and it could stand out against other user’s notes.

It’s a feature that will likely be popular with younger users, too. Who remembers the days we’d use codes in amongst our MSN tagline to change the font or the colours? It made it stand out against everyone else’s black standard font.

Notes were previously removed from Reels and the Instagram feeds because they weren’t being used and were overlooked, so it might be that this update isn’t needed. However, it was quite a small change that could bring more people to the feature.
