Instagram introduced some new Halloween features. These spooky additions range from keyword-triggered animations, to templates and new fonts. All of these extras can be accessed now, if you know what you’re looking for.
The additions haven’t been announced as such, so many are hidden secrets. You’ll find using certain words will trigger different reactions within Instagram DMs. We’re not here to gatekeep either, so we’ll let you know the code words you need.
Type in Happy Halloween, Halloween, or Trick-or-treat. These words will result in animations like bats flying across your screen. Many users will find themselves accidentally stumbling across the feature when discussing the holiday season.
Meta’s AI tool will allow you to generate a background for Halloween. Instagram have even added 5 templates to their Add Yours feature within stories. These are things like adding your favourite spooky film and costume, or uploading a photo of you trick-or-treating.
Another option is adding Halloween themed text. When creating a story on Instagram, you can choose from a variety of font options. The platform have introduced a spooky vibed font called Halloween – allowing users to easily edit their text to match the occasion.
