YouTube previously introduced a multi-language dubbing feature, which allowed content to become more accessible for many. It was originally only available to a few select creators, however, now, it’s been rolled out to all creatives.
YouTube recently announced their multi-language audio feature is now accessible for all creators. This follow two years of trials and testing. The feature was introduced in beta mode for some creators prior, but, now, it’s something all creators can access.
Millions of YouTubers are now able to dub their videos. Making videos accessible in languages worldwide. It opens doors creators previously wouldn’t have accessed, because now, videos really are for everyone, despite their background.
This tool has removed the language barrier that has been faced worldwide since the internet first began. Creators will now be able to target a global audience, so, not only is it great for viewers, but, also, the YouTubers themselves.
The rollout should be visible over the coming weeks. A few creators already using the feature are; Jamie Oliver, Mark Rober and MrBeast. Prior to this feature, creators have been working with third-party companies to have their videos dubbed.
YouTube’s service is powered by AI and uses technology from Gemini to replicate the creator’s tone and emotions. It’s really fascinating. It’s said, on average, those who uploaded multi-language content saw over 25% of their watch time coming from outside their native language.
These numbers are huge. Jamie Oliver found his views tripled once he tested the YouTube dubbing feature. It proves it can do wonders for creators. Likewise, it shows, people had blocks in place, stopping them from seeing the content they enjoy.
Also, another interesting feature added by YouTube is the option to add text in other languages. Creators are able to customised thumbnails to display text in other languages to appeal to other views. The text should be localised and therefore displayed in the correct language, matching the viewer’s preferred languages.
