TikTok launch a new tool, allowing songwriters to receive credit for their work. A title will display on their verified account, letting followers know their role, and they’re able to stand out.
Midia Research recently conducted a survey, which found, songwriters rely on social media for their growth, and that having a strong online presence is really important to the majority. As TikTok is one of the most profitable apps of current times, it’s valuable.
Therefore, songwriters rely on the likes of TikTok. It’s become a place where they’re able to express themselves in a creative light. TikTok is one of the key platforms at the moment, so creators, and brands alike are pushing for the platform to do more for discoverability.
This time, TikTok listened and decided to act. They’re introducing TikTok Songwriter Features. This will allow songwriters to apply for a songwriter account. You’ll then be able to see a Songwriter Music Tab within their profile.
Within this tab, you’ll see all the songs they have written or co-written. Allowing you to see the hard work that goes on, often behind the scenes. After all, we all point out when we love an artist’s track, but often, it’s only their voice, not their words.
It will be great to see a songwriter’s work on their TikTok page. At the moment, the project is in beta, so only a few publishers and musicians are able to access it. Like all new features, this will likely be rolled out worldwide shortly.
