Google’s Gemini AI tool has been updated. The 2.5 addition is considered to be a thinking model that can handle a wide variety of complex issues. Making it superior to other AI systems. The model is by far the most intelligent AI tool yet.

Rather than making predictions based upon information found online, Gemini 2.5 can make decisions from data pulled across a broad range of sources. It uses reinforcement learning, which is where the machine will learn through trial and error without prompt.

Gemini 2.5 will also use chain-of-thought prompting, which is a technique used to improve capabilities of language models. Just like a human would, the technology is supposed to give explanations of its reasoning rather than an unsupported answer.

A premium model has been designed to handle the most complex of tasks. Currently, it sits in top spot on the LMArena leaderboard, which measures human preferences. This premium model can show strong levels of reasoning.

Gemini 2.5 Pro can code, solve advanced maths equations with explanation, and has a high level of scientific knowledge. Users can access the model via Google AI Studio and the Gemini app. It will even be available via Vertex AI soon.

Google have used their favoured Gemini product and added to it to improve it in new ways. Each user can have up to 1 million tokens, with 2 million being added soon. Words are broken into tokens, each token for Gemini is around 4 characters.

This means 100 tokens is around 60-80 English words. Therefore, you could essentially input an entire novel, copied and pasted and ask Gemini a specific question about it. The model would be able to handle that quantity of words and would pick out the relevant information.
