SoundCloud introduces a new feature which leans more into the social media platform idea. They’ve added an option to see what your friends are favouring, so you can listen to their top tracks.
The music streaming platform SoundCloud is changing the way it works, and including more social media features along the way. This should make the platform more appealing and more engaging to music fans.
Playlists will be created based upon your friends likes and favourite artists. You’ll receive suggested follows, so you can find new artists and songs based upon what those closest to you are listening to. Perhaps you can find your next favourite artist.
SoundCloud aim to build social interacts within the platform. Does this mean they will eventually be able to compete with Spotify, and their new messaging feature? With SoundCloud showing your friend’s likes, they’ve introduced a Liked By Your Crew section.
The platform has also added a Trending Trackwall feature which will display popular tracks, allowing you to see what’s currently trending. All of these new features will be available on both iOS and Android devices.
Finally, two smartphone app exclusives – Hot For You, which is a daily personalised track that’s trending on the platform. It will be selected based upon your listening habits. Also, the platform will recommend people you should follow.
These suggestions will be artists you might like, as well as people with similar listening habits and people you may know in real life. They will be suggested via a carousel post on the platform homepage.
