Instagram makes it simple to buy products from your favourite shops directly within the app. There are two main ways to complete a purchase using Instagram’s checkout feature: Buy now and Add to basket.
Buy now
If you’re ready to purchase a single product, simply tap Buy now on the product page. This will take you directly to check out, where you can complete your purchase quickly and securely.
Add to basket
If you want to save a product to buy later or add multiple products from the same shop, tap Add to basket. This lets you continue shopping and collect all the items you want to purchase together.
Note: If a product page shows View on website, you’ll need to complete the purchase on the shop’s website instead of Instagram.
How to buy items in your basket
Once you’re ready to complete your purchase, follow these steps:
- Tap your Profile or profile picture in the bottom right of the app.
- Tap the More options Menu in the top right corner.
- Select Basket, then choose the basket you want to view.
- Tap Go to checkout at the bottom.
- If it’s your first time making a payment on Instagram, enter your delivery and payment information. If you’ve previously used Meta Pay and saved your details, this information will already be filled in.
- Tap Continue at the bottom.
- Review your order details, then tap Pay now.
Important: Products from different shops in your basket must be purchased separately.
Instagram checkout is designed to make shopping convenient and fast, whether you’re buying a single item or multiple products from the same shop. By using Buy now for quick purchases and Add to basket for larger orders, you can control how you shop while keeping all your payment and delivery information secure.
