There are a few reasons why your X (formerly Twitter) account might be blocked. Perhaps you have been accused of spam, or abuse. If your account has been banned, you can appeal.

There are a few reasons your X account might have been suspended. Unfortunately, there aren’t always warnings, either. You could be on the platform one day, and suspended the next. If you find your account blocked, you can appeal. Here is why it might be suspended:
Spam
If your account has content that is considered spam, it will be suspended. This includes any accounts that come across as fake, or include potentially damaging content. If X believe your account has security risks, they will block it. This does lead to accounts being incorrectly suspended. If you are a genuine person, you can appeal.
Account security
If your account has been hacked or compromised, X will step in and suspend it. This will allow the rightful owner to get in touch and try to regain access to their own account. Sometimes, X will block an account they believe has been hacked.
Abusive posts
Any account with abusive posts or behaviour will be suspended by X. If the account has been reported for violating rules, they will investigate and likely block the account while doing so. If your account has posted abusive content, it won’t be restored.
How to get your X account unsuspended
If your account has been suspended, and you feel this is unfair, you can submit an appeal and request the platform review their decision. Ensure your email address, and phone number have been provided firstly, so the platform can verify your identity.
It’s important to be aware, a message stating your account is locked is not the same as an account being suspended. Two different messages will display. If it says your account is locked, consider this a warning sign to stop with the abusive content, or spam.
Usually, a locked account will be unlocked after a period of time. Or, you might even be asked to provide information about yourself to help with the process. If you want your account back quickly, ensure you respond with the relevant information quickly.
However, if your account has been suspended, the option you have is to appeal the decision. Head over to the file an appeal section, and fill in the relevant information. There is no timeframe on X reviewing this, however. It usually takes a long time.
