FAQ

What is PUSH.fm?

PUSH.fm is a platform that builds marketing, promotional and analytical tools for musicians, labels, content creators and more.

We currently offer 3 products; Fan Links, Pre-save campaigns and Content Unlocks.

Fan Links are sharable, trackable and easily-customisable landing pages that contain all the links you want to share with your fans in one place.

You can add links to music services, social media platforms, websites and more to push your music, brand or business further.

Fan Links benefit both the fan and content creator; fans can access creators’ content from one place whilst content creators can package and customise their links to suit them and their fans, all whilst collecting valuable insights.

You can link in anything you want (provided it is in line with our usage policy). We have a handful of stores and platforms that will autofill a logo and button text, however it’s incredible easy to add your own.

Simply click on ‘Add New Service Provider’, type in your own service name, URL and button text, and finally upload your logo of choice.

What is a Pre-save?

A Pre-save is the streaming equivalent of a pre-order, and is exclusively used for music releases. When you pre-save a song or an album, it will be automatically added to your streaming library the minute it is released.

Pre-saves are currently available on Spotify, Deezer and Apple Music.

How does a Pre-save work?

Firstly, as an artist, you’ll need to create a Pre-save link using the URLs of where your release will land which you can obtain from your distributor. Once you’ve got your Pre-save campaign up and running, you can start to share it across your socials.

When a fan clicks on one of your Pre-save links, they’ll be asked to authorise and confirm the Pre-save for the story they have selected (either Spotify, Deezer or Apple Music). This action means the fan allows the streaming stores to take actions on their behalf, such as saving the release to their library, following the artist who’ve they pre-saved amongst other actions.

After the pre-save is confirmed and release day rolls around, the track or album will be added to the fans library automatically.

To read more about how Pre-saves work, check out our article.

Why should I make a Pre-save campaign?

Pre-saves are effective tools for musicians as they allow artists and labels to promote the release before the release date, driving streams, boosting engagement and supplying valuable audience insights.

The more pre-saves your release has, the higher chance you have of making your way onto stores’ playlists when release day comes around.

What is a Content Unlock?

Content Unlocks allow fans to unlock content in exchange for certain actions on social media and streaming services. You can choose which and how many actions must be taken, along with the content being unlocked; either in the form of a downloadable file (such as audio, videos, images etc) or an exclusive message (secret URLs, discount codes or anything else).

Which social actions are offered?

We offer actions to be taken on Facebook, Twitter, Apple Music, Deezer, Spotify & YouTube.

How much does PUSH.fm cost?

We offer a free and a paid plan:

  • Our free plan offers 30 active Fan Links, 1 active Pre-save (or 5 for a connected RouteNote account), and 10 active Content Unlocks up to a total of 1GB of storage.
  • Our premium plan costs £4.99/month and offers unlimited Fan Links, unlimited Pre-saves and unlimited Content Unlocks up to 50GB of storage.

What are conversions?

When a fan lands on your campaigns’ landing page and clicks through to one of the links listed, this is known as a conversion. Fans that open your campaign links but do not follow through and click on any links, will not count towards your conversions.

Does PUSH create posts for my social media pages?

No, we do not post on behalf of our users, instead we supply a range of tools that you can use to optimize social media posts and fan engagement with them.

Stores may be missing because they haven’t yet received your release. Some services can take up to 2 weeks to ingest content. If you’re having issues, please contact your distributor.

You can easily correct any wrong links by
1. Clicking on the ‘⋮’ ellipsis next to your Fan Link.
2. Clicking on Edit Link.
3. Navigate to Step 3: Select Services.
4. Opening platform with the incorrect link in.
5. Pasting the correct link in the Service URL field.

Can PUSH supply me with my URLs for my Pre-save campaign?

Unfortunately not. You’ll need to contact your music distributor, as they are responsible for your digital distribution and getting your music on streaming platforms and stores.

It should be an easy process contacting your distributor about these, but ensure you leave plenty of time before your release date in case of any delays.

Why do you only offer Pre-saves for Spotify, Deezer and Apple Music?

Spotify, Deezer and Apple Music are currently the only stores we have Pre-save contracts with, although we’re looking to offer Pre-saves with more stores as and when they become available!

Help! I can’t open my Pre-save links!

Before your release date, your pre-save URLs will not work and can only be used to make a Pre-save campaign. When your release goes live, these links will become active and will direct you to where your release has landed on stores.

Where is the automatically generated feature image taken from?

The feature image that automatically appears when creating Fan Links or Pre-save campaigns is taken directly from the stores your release appears on.

If I want to replace my feature image, what size and format should it be?

⏹ A perfect square.

🔎 At least 1400 x 1400 pixels.

💾 JPG, PNG, GIF or SVG.

Uploaded images must not contain any copyright infringement, abuse, violence, defamation, illegality or pornography.

How many active campaigns can I have at one time?

This depends on which plan you’re on. Have a look at our pricing page to see how many active Fan Links, Pre-save campaigns and Content Unlocks you are entitled to.

Help! I’ve reached my campaign limit!

If you find you’ve run out of campaigns, you can either upgrade to our premium subscription, or you can archive any old campaigns.

Archiving campaigns mean they will no longer work and users will be directed to a 404 page. You can reinstate archived campaigns at any time. You can also choose to delete any campaigns that you’re confident you won’t use again.

What kind of analytics does PUSH provide?

We provide detailed analytics for each of your campaigns. On your dashboard you’ll find a key overview of how all of your campaigns are performing overall, along with a key break down of how your Fan Links, Pre-saves and Content Unlocks are doing and which campaigns are performing the best.

More detailed analytics are available by viewing each campaigns’ Performance Data, in which you can view visits, conversions, and success rates, either as totals or as adjustable time periods.

Do you collect fans’ emails during campaigns?

Unfortunately, we don’t offer email collection during Pre-save or Content Unlock campaigns however it is a feature that we’re looking into implementing very soon.

What forms of payment do you accept?

All subscription payments are managed via Stripe. We are currently looking into offering other forms of payment in the near future.
